BOTOX

If life's little stresses don't get to your skin, the sunshine will. Botox is perhaps the most commonly used rejuventaion treatment in the world.

What is Botox?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

When will I see results from my wrinkle-relaxing treatment?

Within days you should see an improvement in the wrinkles between your eyebrows. However, it may take between two to three weeks after the treatment for the full effects to be seen.

How long will the results last?

Your results should last about three to four months, although the results may last longer with repeated treatments.

Is it safe?

Yes, it has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use and has been used for over 30 years without any known long-term problems.

Are Botox® injections painful?

Not really, most people only experience a mild temporary discomfort.

Are there any side effects?

Like all prescription treatments, wrinkle-relaxing treatment with botulinum toxin type A may have some side effects.
In general, any side effects occur within the first few days following injection and are temporary.

As expected for any injection procedure, pain/burning/stinging/swelling and/or bruising may be associated with the injection. The most common side effects are headaches, drooping eyelid (this should be temporary and should go away when the effects of the injection wear off), face pain, skin redness, and local muscle weakness.

Will I still be able to make natural-looking facial expressions?

A lot of women worry that wrinkle-relaxing treatments may ruin their facial expressions or lead to a frozen-looking forehead that doesn’t move when they laugh, smile, or frown. However, an experienced qualified consultant will make sure that wrinkle-relaxing treatments affect only the tiny muscles being directly treated, not the surrounding muscles. This way, when you laugh or frown, the untreated muscles work normally so your expressions still look like you!

SWEAT REDUCTION

If life's little stresses don't get to your skin, the sunshine will. Botox is perhaps the most commonly used rejuventaion treatment in the world.

How long does the sweating stop for?

It starts to work in 2-3 days and lasts on average 6-7 months.

Are there any side effects?

Occasionally there may be some slight bruising which settles in 1-2 days.
After the treatment.  (The treatment takes about 20-30 minutes.)
Afterwards you can carry on your normal daily routine.

What happens when the treatment wears off?

You can have repeat treatment as and when you need it. After successive treatments the results last longer and it is needed less often.

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers (either naturally derived or synthetic) are injected into your skin to fill lines, enhancing your facial contours and lips for natural-looking results.

They’re injected into the deeper layers of skin at the site of sunken areas, creases, or scars to smooth out and ‘plump up’ the area for a firmer, more youthful appearance. Depending on your particular needs, your consultant may recommend using combinations of different types of fillers for the best results. The two most popular materials used are hyaluronic acid (HA) and collagen.

Are there any reactions to treatment?

Reactions can include temporary discomfort, discolouration, or mild to moderate redness and swelling at the injection site. Typically these responses are temporary and, if they do occur, will usually go away within a couple of days. It’s important to tell your consultant about redness, visible swelling, or other questionable symptoms that persist for more than a few days.

Is dermal filler treatment painful?

You may feel an initial sting but only for a moment. Dermal filler treatments are relatively painless due to the use of a dental anaesthetic or local anaesthetics.

How long does it take for the treatments to work?

The procedure takes about 10-20 minutes and the results are instant.

How long does the treatment last for?

For about 6-9 months.

Are there any side-effects?

After the treatment there may be some redness and minimal swelling, which normally settles in 1-2 days. Very occasionally patients can suffer some bruising at the injection site.

Are there any long-term problems?

No, because it is completely natural and over time can be completely broken down by the body.

Can it be used with Botox®?

Yes, sometimes to create the best effect they can be used together.
